big girl - some scrapping

I scrapped this photo because I was struck how my little girl, the one whom I still snuggle and squish 50 times a day and the one who still asks me to sing a bed time song to her,  is actually, a big girl now. This photo shows her with her two little cousins and both my husband and I were amazed at how 'not little' she suddenly is. I felt the fact that our little girl, who will always be the 'big' girl to her cousins, should be documented.
The little brad comes from 'My Minds' Eye' - comes in a pack of about 20 - mix of squares and circles.
If you want to see how I scrapped this photo below, head over here to the Simple Aussie Girls.  Bye for now.

  3. Hi Nicole,
I'm a regular visitor and thank you for your great inspiration.
I've recently been revisiting all of my old Creating Keepsakes magazines, which I find are much better than recent issues. I've noticed that you were published regularly, which I hadn't previously noticed. Today I was reading the August 2007 issue in which your "life is a journey" layout was published. It has journalling which spans the photo and the blank space beside the photo and I wondered how you did this? I looked for a transparency in your Supplies list and there wasn't a transparency listed so I thought I'd ask you if you would mind explaining how you put the text across 2 mediums. Did you place the photo into a larger file with a text box over both areas?

  4. Hi Sylvia,
Thanks for your comment and question. The light coloured cardstock was A4 in size (or 8 x 12). I simply stuck the photo onto the piece of cardstock and ran it through the printer, so the text printed across both items. I had printed a test run on normal copy paper so that I knew where it would print - when I was happy with the test run, I ran the cardstock through with the photo stuck on it. Then I attached the 8x12 cardstock with photo and printing on it, to the strip of dark cardstock to make the whole page 12 x 12. I used to do this technique quite a bit - must do it again. It's very simple. Thanks for asking, let me know how you went.
