Now I DID promise to show you some photos of my 11 year old girl getting her first pointe shoes for ballet, didn't I? Well, not only do I have some photos, but I have them scrapped! I made a quick photoshop collage which was an 8x10 divided into quarters, then I repeated it for the second page and added a title with a text box. I stuck the two 8x10's on white cardstock, stuck a strip of patterned paper down each side, rounded some corners, added a large white brad in a chipboard flower, and the page was done.
These two layouts will sit side by side in her album.
I completed another layout, yet again, scrapping a little piece of memorabilia from my middle girl. For this layout and LOTS of other simple inspiring layouts visit the 'Simple Aussie Girls' blog here. As I have said on the the Simple Aussie Girls blog, while I am SO FAR from the Best Mum Ever, for now this particularly loving child thinks I'm a candidate, so I've got to jump on that while I can. And show her in 8 years when I won't let her out of the house 'wearing that' and she thinks I am far from the 'best Mum ever'. I love this little sketch she did, left for me on the fridge. I especially like the fact that love is blind, and she thinks I have thin legs. Nice.

Ballet looks so graceful and elegant - even though I know the training is so arduous - the paper choice for this one is lovely and arching, like her feet!
ReplyDeleteI'd certainly be jumping on the best mum ever band wagon, who knows how long it will last, there are serious parenting years ahead of us!
she is so poised and elegant...and only eleven...oh boy....
ReplyDeletejudging by the objections to my simple request to get in the bath here, I would say I am not on the Best Mum List tonight!
Wow those ballet photos are amazing...she looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love your ballet page - she is truly stunning and both are very beautiful... I'd be putting this one on the wall!
ReplyDeleteSigh...so in love with those ballet photos. Amaris is Dani's hero :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your photos and layouts. And the Simple Aussie Girls blog is great!
