Lunch time.
So yum. I grab a slice of sourdough bread, load it up with some sliced avocado on the bottom, then, baby spinach leaves, then some mushrooms fried up quickly while the bread is toasting, and two poached eggs on top. My favourite lunch at the moment. I enjoy it with a latte or a green tea. Look forward to it whenever I'm at home around the lunch hour.
I was working on my photography, using only the manual setting and my 50mm lens. This photo was straight out of the camera. No editing - which is very hard for me to not do. I would increase the aperture a touch next time to allow for slightly more focus. I took some with the mushrooms focused, and some with the egg focused, but didn't quite swing both focused! It hard work on the eyes, getting everything focused through that little viewfinder, and according to the optometrist whom I saw for the first time ever last week - I have great eyesight!! After taking about eight photos of my lunch, focusing on different bits, my eyes were telling me 'enough!' and besides, my lunch was waiting to be eaten!
Must experiment more with my camera. A few emails back and forth picking the brains of my friend Mel, helped me with this one. I had an ISO question or two. Thanks Mel.
In scrapping news, I have a new layout to share, this one is my eldest and her two girl cousins.
I just read a few posts ago, that I had promised to share some photos of my eldest getting her pointe ballet shoes. That is very me, to promise and then promptly forget! Will do that next time. 'Promise'.

What makes this so mouthwatering is that you can see the steam from the freshly poached egg - it's a great shot and just the sort of thing I'd love for lunch too!
ReplyDeleteAnd my invite????
ReplyDeleteooooh, now I am hungry and hoping that I can get sourdough bread at the supermarket next time I go there (which won't be for a few weeks ):-( apart from the avocado, and the mushrooms, that looks delish! (I would do onions instead!)
ReplyDeleteand love this page. good stuff.
I'd like to come for lunch at your house :) - great shot, I also like that you can see the steam rising off it.
ReplyDeleteAs for your (and my) memory - let's not talk about that one!
xx
Stunning photo - if you can do this straight from the lens, that is brilliant! And a gorgeous page for three very pretty young women.
ReplyDeletetop shot nicole, I want that for breakfast. When I met Di in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago I asked her how she met you guys and it's funny how now you have scrapbooked that story and I had the scoup 2 weeks earlier. Go the 50mm lens!!! it always rocks.
