PJ's

A return to the old strip journaling here! I do quite like it! It is very quick, easy and effective. The letter stickers used for the title are AC and that patterned paper is quite old, by Sassafrass lass. There is a thin dark brown border ('java' cardstock) around everything, before the big white swiss dotty cardstock frame. Just explaining the process, because I have at last one brand new scrapper out there reading this and desperate to start scrapping. Hi Melanie M.

This layout above, coming to you early Saturday morning, instead of the intended Friday, is about how my 10 year old mostly fit into adult sized PJ's from not-a-kids store and was excited. Her first clothing item that isn't made for kids. She does look older than her 10 years here, which is a little sad, but she has always been like that since she was very little (ie it's not my fault!!).

Have just returned from taking this girl to Melbourne for the week, and will be back on Monday with lots of photos. Also had the pleasure of photographing a family before I went to Melbourne, so will share some of those photos too.

See you then.

  1. Such a pity we have missed one another while you were in Melbourne, I'm heading home today. Great layout Nicole on a bittersweet topic for sure!

  2. yep, I have one of those too, that looks older than she is (its her height) but thankfully she still acts like a 7 1/2 year old!

    Cute pj's Amaris!

Question: how do you manage to get your strips so even? Do you type them in a table so you have a nice line to help you cut them? just wondering as I did this just yesterday and even though I was paying partcular attention, they weren't all even...perhaps its just ME!

love this layout Nic, and that paper is yummy! (and welcome back from the wilds of melbourne!)

  3. Love the dotty paper! And that pp has long been a fav of mine. They really grow up way to fast! Hope you had some awesome girly time in Melboure amongst all the ballet.

  4. This is so sweet! We have the opposite issue with Erin, she is 10 but barely fits into things that a 6-7 yr can wear.
Can't wait to see your photos, can you shoot me an email telling me what kind of camera you are using? I am due for an upgrade and wonder what you (and Di, if she reads this!) are now using. Thanks!

  5. Hi Sharon, IF my strips are even, then it's a fluke. I double space the lines of text before I print it out, then just cut and hope for the best! I use a knife and ruler, not a trimmer, as I find it's more accurate.
